Another new hotel is being proposed in west Kanata.
Timmins-based Boreal Hospitality Group has filed a site plan application with the city for a four-storey, 121-room hotel at 8600 Campeau Dr., across from the Tanger Outlets shopping centre.
Renderings in the proposal show the property branded as a Wingate By Wyndham, a chain of independently owned hotels that are primarily geared to business travellers.

According to its website, Boreal specializes in hotel construction, financing and management. Its portfolio includes Microtel by Wyndham properties in Timmins, Sudbury and Kirkland Lake.
This corner of Kanata, just north of the Canadian Tire Centre, is poised to see a flurry of development activity in the coming years.
Directly to the east of Tanger Outlets, Glebe-based Activar is proposing a 108-unit Microtel hotel at 340 Huntmar Dr.
Meanwhile, to the west of the outlet mall, a developer is seeking municipal permission to construct more retail space on a Palladium Road property around the existing Cabela’s hunting and fishing store.
