Anne Howland, editor-in-chief
Anne Howland is the editor-in-chief of Ottawa Business Journal. She brings more than 20 years of journalism and business experience to the role, having worked in media, business and government over her career. Her academic credentials include degrees from Carleton University in journalism and a MBA from Queen’s University.
At OBJ, Anne oversees content on multiple platforms, including special publications, and leads a team of reporters and freelancers in offering business news in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. As a member of the senior leadership team, Anne contributes to the company’s strategy and direction.

David Sali, senior writer
Dave is a senior writer and editor with two decades of experience in the newspaper industry working for a variety of publications from community weeklies to major dailies. As a journalist, Dave has covered everything from junior hockey to city hall and has helped launch and build award-winning publications; as an editor, Dave has overseen newsrooms and effectively managed people and budgets. Dave brings passion and creativity to everything he does.
Dave is a four-time award-winning journalist by the Alliance of Area Business Publishers (AABP). He has received awards for best news feature, best scoop and best overall writer among medium-sized business publications.

Caroline is a writer and journalist with more than 27 years of experience in writing, journalism, and newspapers.
With OBJ, Caroline takes photos and writes a regular column for print and online about social events of interest to the public, happening around Ottawa.

Sarah MacFarlane, reporter and web coordinator
Sarah is a business reporter and online coordinator for the Ottawa Business Journal, producing coverage of both local and regional business news and ensuring a timely and effective online presence.
Passionate, driven, experienced and enthusiastic journalist and recent graduate from Carleton University’s School of Journalism.
Experienced in photography, freelancing, long-form journalism, copy editing, video journalism, human profiles, news editing, accurate storytelling, efficient reporting, photoshop, WordPress, and social media.
Sarah is especially drawn to editing and is hoping to gain more experience in copy and magazine editing and pursue a career in senior editing.
