Ottawa’s female business leaders took home a haul of hardware at the Women in Finance and Women in IT awards held this week in Toronto.

Lana Legostaeva walked away with the award for the best female-led finance team Wednesday evening for her work at Invest Ottawa and Bayview Yards. The Women in Finance series specifically highlighted her team’s work integrating the financial structures of both organizations while simultaneously scaling up operations as worthy of recognition.

On the technical side, Iversoft co-founder Vicki Iverson was named CTO of the Year on Thursday night. Iverson was recognized for the technological transformation within the company as it pivoted from an app developer to a full digital consultancy, as well as her initiatives to help tech talent develop their skills on company time.

The Women in IT series’ Data Leader of the Year award went to Jill Andrews, who works as the director of digital analytics for Ottawa-based Fullscript out of the company’s Toronto offices. Ottawa-based women were among the nominees in other tech categories as well: Shalini Nagrani, former general manager at OpenConcept Consulting, was a finalist for Woman of the Year; and Midia Shikh Hassan, manager of the University of Ottawa’s MakerLaunch program and CEO of Dextra Innovations, was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Women in IT and Women in Finance series are run in cities around the world by the Bonhill Group and its partners.
