Where Ottawa’s thought leaders, creators and healers come to grow

Ottawa River Integrative Mental Health (ORIMH) is an executive mental health practice for entrepreneurs, government leaders, diplomats and health professionals

You hold the vision for others. According to Ottawa River Integrative Mental Health (ORIMH), now it’s time to look at yourself.

The people ORIMH serves are building the innovation, leading the team, holding accountability for the file, and running the department. Their work is meaningful – but also relentless. They are responsible for outcomes other people depend on. A leader’s mental health and well-being plays a role in every action they take, and that’s too important to ignore or minimize.

The standard burnout advice – slow down, take a vacation, or head to the spa — was designed for someone whose life can pause. ORIMH’s clients usually cannot stop, or entire systems stop working. The therapy options usually available are designed for people who lose competence as they become unwell, but ORIMH’s clients often keep performing at high levels even when they’re breaking inside.

The company understands how those it serves have learned to get by and compartmentalize – often at great cost to their quality of life, health, and personal relationships.

Ottawa River Integrative Mental Health was built for leaders.

Care for the people Ottawa counts on

ORIMH is an executive mental health practice built on a 20-plus year clinical record that began at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, where Sogge fell in love with researching and meeting the needs of leaders who rarely receive care that meets them where they are.

Founded by registered clinical and health psychologist Dr. Kimberly Sogge, ORIMH is a specialty practice for entrepreneurs, public service leaders, diplomats, and high-performing health professionals.

The clinic features twenty-five-plus clinicians, locations in the Glebe and Toronto, and online availability online across Ontario. Its philosophy is focused on integrated mental health and well-being.

ORIMH clients consistently report relief that they don’t have to explain what it’s like to be a burned out gifted person, or a high performer so internally motivated that they cannot stop pushing for the last bit of improvement – even when others have gone home for the day. At Ottawa River, these skills are appreciated, seen with compassion, and nurtured through their next stage of growth – not dismissed, pathologized, or treated with a simplistic worksheet.

Evolving beyond symptoms to self-leadership

ORIMH’s work doesn’t stop at reducing anxiety or treating burnout. It develops the internal regulation, clarity, and self-knowledge that make sustainable leadership possible. The clinic’s goal is to return its clients to their lives, teams, projects, and values clearer, more present, and with a recovered capacity to serve the values they hold deeply. ORIMH calls this “self-leadership” – the inner work that makes outer leadership last.

Three programs starting this season

Trauma Healing Regulation Integration Vitality and Engagement (THRIVE) After Trauma: An intensive outpatient program grounded in the Program for Alleviating and Resolving Trauma and Stress (PARTS) protocol developed and tested at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, and designed for the leaders, first responders, healthcare professionals, and high performers.

Relationships Help You Rise — couple, family and sex therapy for high performers: Behind every successful leader is a web of relationships that either holds them up or quietly frays under the weight of their ambition. Long hours and constant accountability often leave partners and families feeling disconnected and resentful. ORIMH’s experienced mental health team of regulated health care professionals helps leaders repair intimacy ruptures, reconnect with family, and rebuild the relational foundation that a deeply satisfying life depends on.

Executive Mental Health Assessment: Leaders make high-stakes decisions about everything except their own minds. The ORIMH Executive Mental Health Assessment offers a comprehensive, evidence-based, confidential picture of cognitive ability,  memory, attention, planning, stress load, mood, and burnout risk — the same rigour executives apply to their organizations, applied to themselves. Offered in both Ottawa and Toronto locations, the executive mental health assessment can help you create a personal roadmap for sustaining performance, protecting well-being, and defining your plan for emotional well-being. For leaders and their families, optimal performance starts with knowing exactly where you stand.  Its the annual physical the mind never gets — until now.
