Hot reads of summer 2023: OBJ’s favourite 10 stories to keep you busy

OBJ summer reading

Summer is in the air, and here at OBJ, we know how important it is to step back and unwind amid the heat and sun. Ottawa’s hard-working business community continues to show just how resilient it is to the challenges of the last few years, and there has never been a better time to recharge one’s batteries and take a moment to relax.

As even the most driven and dedicated entrepreneur knows, recharging and resting is vital to staying successful and productive. To that effect, the OBJ team will be stepping away from our desks for a one-week hiatus from Aug. 7-11 to soak up the sun, maybe relax by the pool, and reflect on a busy few months.

In the first half of 2023, OBJ has been continuing our digital evolution. We launched our new website, obj.ca, late last year, and it has been thrilling to see all our loyal and dedicated readers sign up for our new OBJ Insider membership. In recent weeks, we have also changed our email newsletter model to deliver your news in the most effective and efficient way we can.

In the last few days, an announcement from Meta has informed us that in the coming weeks, our content will be removed from Facebook and Instagram. In that vein, your support is more critical now than ever.

To keep you busy while we’re away, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite stories of this year so far – including an op-ed from our publisher in response to Meta’s announcement.

Stay in the loop, check out our coverage, and stay tuned for even more OBJ content when we return on Aug. 14.

In the meantime: happy reading!
