The Ottawa Senators have turned to a former newspaper executive to be their new chief marketing officer and vice-president of ticketing.
Peter O’Leary worked for 13 years at the Ottawa Citizen, including a stint as vice-president of advertising. He spent the last nine years at Metroland Media Group, a division of Torstar, where he most recently served as regional general manager of the Metroland East division which covers Ottawa and the surrounding area. He was also chief operating officer at publishing company Performance Group before it was sold to Metroland.
In total, Mr. O’Leary has more than 27 years of newspaper experience in Ottawa and Toronto. The longtime Sens fan will officially begin his new post with the NHL club on Sept. 22.
With employers having to recruit more frequently, it’s crucial to stay on top of employment law updates. Emond Harnden tells us about two upcoming changes.
“Peter comes to us with a terrific history of driving business in both traditional and digital mediums and we believe that he will be able to help us make significant improvements to our marketing and ticketing teams to better serve both our fans and our partners,” Senators president Cyril Leeder said in a statement.
“He brings experience, dedication and a great knowledge of how to succeed in our local community. We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to Peter being a big part of the Senators’ future success.”
