Hats off

The Edison Electric Institute presented Hydro Ottawa with the association’s Emergency Assistance Award for its work assisting customers affected by Hurricane Irma last September. Hydro Ottawa sent a group of 26 employees to rural Georgia to assist in power restoration after the hurricane devastated many communities in the southern United States. The agency’s crews worked with Georgia Power and other utilities offering mutual aid. The award recognizes an outstanding response in assisting other electric companies in power restoration efforts after severe weather conditions or other natural events.
