“The first pillar of Calian’s growth strategy is customer retention,” said Calian president and CEO Kevin Ford in a statement. “The addition of this training contract brings our total DND major contract re-wins in the last fiscal year to five.”

Wednesday’s announcement comes less than two weeks after Calian renewed a pair of other contracts with the Department of National Defence that are worth up to $29 million combined.

Calian says the contract will help preserve 50 jobs in Atlantic Canada.

In addition to its training offerings, Calian’s Ottawa-based business and technology division provides engineering, health and IT services.

The firm has posted record-breaking revenues for the company in three consecutive quarters and reported a quarterly profit of $3.9 million In August.
