Deloitte’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing tech firms in Canada includes one Ottawa-based company, with another burgeoning local startup making the short-list of high-potential firms.
Deloitte released its Technology Fast 50 list Thursday morning, ranking the top Canadian tech companies by four-year revenue growth.
Assent Compliance, which develops software to help enterprise customers automate regulatory requirements, was the sole Ottawa entrant on the Fast 50 2019 edition. The local firm ranked No. 48 with 326 per cent revenue growth in the last four years.

Assent Compliance also ranked No. 313 on Deloitte’s Fast 500 list, a similar ranking that includes companies across North America.
The rapidly growing Ottawa software firm has continued to make strides since landing $161 million in a series-C round a year ago, including opening offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia. Assent employs some 350 people locally and 500 in total around the world.
In addition to its ranking of the fastest-growing companies, Deloitte also releases an annual list of tech firms to keep an eye on as future contenders for the Fast 50. This year, Ottawa-based Rewind made the list.
It’s been a big week for Rewind, which develops software that automatically backs up online storefronts. On Wednesday evening the company celebrated its official graduation from the Invest Ottawa accelerator, hosting a panel discussion on scaling up sustainably with some other tech firms at Bayview Yards.
