The Ottawa Senators’ front office is going through a significant line change this off-season as the organization is naming new executives amid the departure of chief operating officer Nic Ruszkowski.
The short-tenured COO joined the Sens in June of last year. Ruzkowski is leaving the team to “pursue other opportunities,” according to a release from the Sens. The local NHL club commended Ruszkowski for his leadership and noted he’ll remain in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition to his yet-to-be-named successor.
In addition to Ruszkowski’s departure, the Sens also reportedly named Brian Crombie to the CFO role and Mark Bonneau as chief revenue officer. The Sens’ statement continued on to say that the off-season is “an essential time” to review its organization and make “decisions to strengthen our club.”

The 2018-19 season was a grind for the Sens as the team saw the departure of numerous top players and finished at the bottom of the league – saying nothing of the collapsed deal to bring the club to a new downtown arena on LeBreton Flats.
The new positions are the latest in a series of executive shake-ups for the Sens. Last year alone saw the team hire Ruszkowski and Aimee Deziel as chief marketing officer following the departure of president Tom Anselmi, who himself replaced longtime Sens chief Cyril Leeder in 2017.
