On a day dedicated to embracing cannabis culture, Smiths Falls pot firm Tweed hopes a multimillion-dollar investment will help to brand 4-20 as a force for good.
Tweed, the cannabis production arm of Canopy Growth and the largest pot grower in Canada, said Friday that it will spend $20 million over four years on community development projects across Canada. Dubbed Tweed Collective, the new initiative will take inspiration from projects in the firm’s hometown of Smiths Falls.
“We started at home by supporting the local theatre and the community garden in Smiths Falls. With Tweed expanding across the country with new production sites and retail stores, home now stretches coast to coast and our contribution has to expand along with it,” said Canopy Growth president Mark Zekulin in a statement.
