For more than 20 years, OBJ has been spotlighting the National Capital Region’s top 40 professionals under the age of 40 – a tradition that continues once again in 2018.
Nominations are now open for this year’s Forty under 40 awards, a partnership between OBJ and the Ottawa Board of Trade that celebrates the region’s top up-and-coming young leaders who reflect the economic diversity, entrepreneurial spirit and future of the capital’s dynamic business community.

Meet the team bringing talent and jobs to Eastern Ontario
The OEEDC has been supporting economic development in Eastern Ontario by putting the region on the map.
Applications will be judged on the applicant’s professional accomplishments, expertise in his or her chosen field and community involvement.
Nominees must be 39 years or younger on June 30 and must spend the majority of their work time in Ottawa-Gatineau. They also must be an owner, executive, manager, professional or person with significant business decision-making authority. Preference is given to nominees who work in the private sector; however, nominees can also work for a public or non-profit organization.
Past recipients of the Forty Under 40 award have represented a wide range of industries, including architects, high-tech CEOs, homebuilders, lawyers, musicians, restaurateurs and startup founders. Last year’s class included Claridge Homes’ Shawn Malhotra and Keynote Group’s Donna Baker and well-known honourees include Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke and Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. co-founder Steve Beauchesne.
Recipients will be announced in late April. The award gala honouring this year’s recipients will be held on Friday, June 21 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy.
