The release includes the much-watch household debt-to-income figures. The figures come after Equifax Canada said consumer delinquencies climbed higher in the fourth quarter of 2018 and warned that rising delinquency rates are likely to become the norm this year.
Wilkins speech
Carolyn Wilkins, senior deputy governor at the Bank of Canada is scheduled to give a speech in Vancouver on Thursday. The central bank kept its key interest rate target on hold at 1.75 per cent last week as it pointed to “increased uncertainty” about the timing of future rate hikes following the economy’s abrupt deceleration in late 2018.
