One of Ottawa’s most popular tourist attractions says it’s received a large boost in attendance from a special exhibition this summer.
The National Gallery of Canada says its Impressionist Treasures – which features 76 paintings by the likes of Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and others – has attracted more than 114,000 visitors to date, making it the most attended summer exhibition since Van Gogh: Up Close, the Gallery’s 2012 summer show.
In an innovative promotion, the National Gallery installed a special pop-up exhibition in the lobby on Constitution Square to raise the profile of its temporary exhibition, which closes Sept. 9.
