Mierins Automotive Group is handing over the keys to seven of its dealerships in the capital as part of a landmark sale for one of Ottawa’s oldest automotive families.

The full deal will see the Mierins family, which has been in automotive sales since 1957, sell 10 dealerships and two collision centres across Ottawa, Kingston and Brockville to Toronto’s Alpha Auto Group. The Mierins’ location at 1110 St. Laurent Blvd. is not included in the deal.

Some 550 employees are affected by the deal, but the release states that all have been offered positions in the organization with their levels of seniority maintained. Co-presidents Lisa Mierins and Arnie Mierins will also remain on during a transition period.
