Event Date: 10/01/2026 Organizer: Nelligan Law and the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation
Ottawa’s business crowd traded suits for cowboy boots Thursday night as Nelligan Law took over Elmdale Oyster House & Tavern for the sold out Honky Tonk for Healthcare, a lively evening in support of the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation raising more than $50,000.
The honky-tonk-inspired fundraiser brought together members of the local business community for an evening of live music, food, drinks and plenty of networking. Guests mingled throughout the tavern, with a faux tattoo station adding to the country-themed atmosphere.
Behind the fun was a serious cause. Funds raised through the event support the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation and its efforts to help bring state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to the hospital, with the goal of reducing wait times and expanding care capacity as Ottawa’s population continues to grow and age.
More than 500,000 people rely on Queensway Carleton Hospital each year for a wide range of services, from emergency care, surgery and diagnostics to mental health services, rehabilitation, childbirth and acute care for seniors.
For one night, though, the focus was on good music, good company and doing some good for the community.
