Officials from Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks are in Dusseldorf, Germany, this week, where they will unveil some of the facility’s commercialization projects at the SDN and OpenFlow World Congress.
With more than 1,300 delegates attending from around the world, the conference is an opportunity for Kanata-based CENGN’s medium-sized enterprises and multinational partners to advance the commercial potential of their projects.
With the software-defined networking and network function virtualization market expected to exceed $40 billion by 2018, CENGN said this conference gives its participating firms a chance to grab a larger piece of that pie.

Two CENGN partnerships – BTI Systems and Corsa Technologies’ project on multi-site multi-domain data centre capacity management and CENGN and Expeto’s work on NFV-based LTE core in the cloud – are up for the Best in Show Award in the ONF SDN Solutions Showcase and Competition.
“Conference delegates will have the opportunity to see real live demonstrations showcasing the value of these Canadian SDN and NFV innovations that are relevant for service providers and their commercial offerings,” CENGN president and CEO Ritch Dusome said in a statement. “Once commercialized, these solutions will help service providers to create more flexible, agile and cost-effective solutions for their customers.”
Mr. Dusome will also give two presentations during the conference and CENGN will arrange meetings between international firms and CENGN companies, all to increase their global competitiveness.
