Travellers will have another transatlantic route out of the Ottawa International Airport starting next spring.

Air Transat announced several new additions to its 2026 summer network on Wednesday, including two new overseas routes. One will be from Ottawa to London Gatwick Airport starting May 15, 2026. The other will be a route between Quebec City and Marseille in the south of France.

“This development is driven by the growing network of Air Transat’s partner, Porter Airlines, which is consolidating Ottawa as a major hub in eastern Canada,” Air Transat said in a release. “Together, the two airlines are improving international access to the Canadian capital while providing travellers with a seamless and convenient connecting journey.”

The new Ottawa route will be the second flight from Ottawa to England and the third transatlantic route out of YOW. Air Canada currently operates a route between Ottawa and London-Heathrow, which it recently announced will continue operating through the winter season this year. Air France, meanwhile, offers a direct flight to Paris, France

Air Transat will also add a new Ottawa-Montreal route, which will be available from May 5 to Oct. 23, 2026.

“Our summer 2026 is already shaping up to be exceptional,” said Sebastian Ponce, chief revenue officer at Transat. “We’re accelerating our growth in Quebec City, launching our first transatlantic route from Ottawa, and expanding our international connections. This is just the beginning of a season full of exciting new developments.”

Porter recently expanded its Ottawa presence with two new routes to United States destinations Pheonix (PHX) and Miami (MIA). Earlier this month, the airline also said it would also be upping capacity on existing routes over the winter season, with a 25 per cent increase in flights to southern destinations. For Ottawa, that includes sun destinations Grand Cayman (GCM), Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), and Puerto Vallarta (PVR).
