The Fairmont Château Laurier was abuzz on Nov. 27 for the CHEO Gala, raising $400K to support CHEO’s Kids These Days campaign. The 10-year, $220M campaign includes the construction of the Integrated Treatment Centre and a redevelopment plan, the largest in CHEO’s history.
The 400 attendees were entertained by CTV Your Morning Ottawa’s Melissa Lamb, who also serves on the organizing committee. CHEO Foundation President & CEO, Steve Read, addressed the crowd, grateful for their support of pediatric healthcare. But true inspiration came from the CHEO families. Eluin, 13, spoke about their journey with mental health challenges and the critical care they received. The audience also watched a video featuring Cece, 5, who relies on many CHEO services. She, alongside her parents, came up on stage for a Q&A, resulting in a standing ovation.
