The Christmas Cheer Breakfast, an annual fundraiser that helps to feed hungry families over the holidays, will not run this year, organizers announced Friday.
In a post on the Christmas Cheer Foundation’s website, organizers wrote that due to “unsurmountable challenges finding a suitable venue,” there will be no breakfast event this December.
Last year’s Christmas Cheer Breakfast shifted to Lansdowne’s Aberdeen Pavilion for the first time after many years at the Westin Hotel. Previous years’ events have raised more than $100,000 for charities in the region.

Organizers apologized for the cancellation, but went on to highlight the “thousands of less fortunate local people that the breakfast supports each year.” They encouraged those who usually give at the fundraiser to continue to donate to Christmas Cheer, as the charity will still work to support individuals in need over the holiday season.
The post ended with a note saying the Christmas Cheer Breakfast will return in 2020.
