2026 Best Offices Ottawa: A workplace that brings people together

Burovision helped Bellai Alliance Construction build a workspace that not only transformed a building, but also the experience of the people who use it every day.

When Bellai Alliance Construction set out to relocate its administrative offices, the objective extended far beyond moving into a larger building. The company envisioned a workplace that would strengthen collaboration, support its growing team and reflect the craftsmanship that has defined its business for decades.

Through a competitive tender process, Burovision was selected as Bellai Alliance Construction’s furniture solutions partner because it was recognized for delivering the strongest combination of value, innovation, professionalism, and responsive service.

Transforming an existing space

Located at 1261 Saint-Joseph Blvd. in Gatineau, Québec, the project involved converting a former automobile dealership into approximately 18,000 square feet of modern office space. The single-story facility also included a finished basement that was transformed into a dedicated training room, creating a workplace designed to support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

The relocation also allowed Bellai Alliance Construction to repurpose it’s previous administrative building to expand its production operations — creating efficiencies across the organization while investing in a workplace that better supports its employees.

A space that reflects the brand

As a leading concrete contractor, Bellai Alliance Construction wanted its new office to reflect its identity and expertise. Polished concrete floors create a clean, industrial aesthetic, while a custom graffiti mural by local artist Martin Freundorfer tells the company’s story and celebrates its history. Together, these design elements create an environment that feels authentic to the Bellai brand.

The completed workplace features a variety of settings that support different ways of working, including private offices, workstations, conference rooms, collaborative spaces, and individual focus areas, providing employees with flexibility throughout the workday.

A partnership built on trust

From the outset, Burovision worked closely with Bellai Alliance Construction and the broader project team, including DMA Construction and ODESIGN & Co., to deliver furniture solutions that met the customer’s vision and functional requirements.

Reflecting on the experience, Bellai Alliance Construction shared:

“From start to finish, the level of service was outstanding,” says Judy-Ann Lamarche, officer manager and financial controller at Bellai Construction. “Throughout the entire year-long project, Scott LeClair, creative director at Burovision, and Heather Pivnick, sales and design co-ordinator at Burovision, were invaluable partners, consistently providing support, expertise and guidance that contributed significantly to the project’s success.”

The customer also noted that selecting Burovision through the competitive tender process was a decision the company “never once regretted,” citing the professionalism, responsiveness, and quality of both the products and the team’s service.

Bringing people back together

Perhaps the greatest success of the project has been its impact on Bellai Alliance Construction’s people.

Previously, employees were spread across several buildings, limiting opportunities for collaboration and daily interaction. The new workplace has united the administrative team under one roof, creating natural opportunities for connection and teamwork.
A spacious kitchen has become a gathering place where employees eat lunch together, while thoughtfully designed collaboration spaces encourage spontaneous conversations and cross-functional teamwork. These new habits have helped restore the sense of community that was challenged during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond improving the day-to-day employee experience, Bellai Alliance Construction believes the investment will strengthen employee retention and help attract future talent as the company continues to grow.

Creating workplaces that support growth

At Burovision, every project begins with understanding how people work and what an organization hopes to achieve through its space. Bellai Alliance Construction’s new office demonstrates how thoughtful workplace planning, quality furnishings, and a collaborative project partnership can transform not only a building, but the experience of the people who use it every day.

The result is more than a new office, it’s a workplace designed to support collaboration, strengthen culture, and position Bellai Alliance Construction for continued success.
