Remember conferences? While exhibit floors have largely been empty, the industry’s trophy cabinets continue to be filled.
Ottawa’s Shaw Centre was named the “best client rated convention centre” for 2020 by the International Association of Convention Centres, taking the honour largely on the strength of its conventions just before the pandemic shuttered the industry. The previous winner was the Valencia Centre in Spain (the awards are given out every two years).
The award is granted every two years in recognition of the highest rating on client surveys received by a convention centre,” the association said in a statement. “It is based on a comprehensive analysis of the centre’s performance based on customer satisfaction surveys.”
