An educational partnership between the Sprott School of Business and coffee chain Bridgehead will see the local brand open up a new shop on the Carleton University campus.
The partnership, announced Tuesday, will see Bridgehead become a case study for a series of Sprott business courses, focusing on the company’s sustainability and social entrepreneurship initiatives. Bridgehead executives will also participate in special lectures.
As part of the agreement, Bridgehead will also open up a location in the new home of Sprott, the Nicol Building. The new facility, named after the late Ottawa real estate icon Wes Nicol, is currently under construction in the heart of Carleton’s campus and is set to open in winter 2021.

“The Sprott School of Business is embarking on initiatives in sustainability and social enterprise – all things that make the planet better – and that’s what we’ve been working on since Bridgehead was founded nearly 40 years ago,” said Bridgehead’s chief culture officer Tracey Clark in a statement.
Clark was previously the CEO of Bridgehead for nearly two decades – until the owner of Second Cup stepped in earlier this month to announce it was acquiring the firm in a $9.5-million deal, shifting her to a new role heading up the coffee company’s culture.
