Shopify’s vaccination policy comes as Quebec is preparing to bar unvaccinated people from non-essential public places such as restaurants and gyms on Sept. 1.
Meanwhile, Ottawa’s two universities, uOttawa and Carleton, both announced this week they’ll require all students, faculty and staff to be fully vaccinated if they want to be on campus this fall.
SaaS North, one of the city’s largest annual tech gatherings, also said this week it will ask for proof of vaccination for all in-person attendees at this year’s event in November.
On Friday, the federal government announced it will require all federal employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
