Fresh off a major European acquisition, Kanata-based software firm Martello Technologies has brought in a veteran executive who’s worked with some of the industry’s biggest names to lead its global sales force.

Martello said Monday it has hired Mike Danforth as its vice-president of global partnerships and sales. In a statement announcing the move, the Kanata firm said Danforth has a “strong track record of successfully leading global teams to overachieve on quotas for B2B software products.”

Danforth spent the past two years as global vice-president of alliances and strategy at cybersecurity firm SafeGuard Cyber. Before that, he had stints as a senior marketing executive with social media dashboard platform Hootsuite and cloud-based customer management software firm Salesforce.

“Mike has a history of building successful channel programs and leading teams that deliver value to customers and partners,” Martello CEO John Proctor said in a statement.

“He will play an important role within Martello as we bring our unique (digital experience monitoring) solutions to the channel, supporting businesses with a better way to manage the digital user experience.”

The appointment comes as Martello, one of the Kanata tech park’s fastest-growing companies, continues to aggressively expand its global footprint.

Martello, which makes software that helps customers detect and troubleshoot problems in their high-speed communications networks, recently acquired Geneva-based GSX Participations in a cash-and-share deal worth $18.7 million.

The Kanata firm has seen significant growth in monthly recurring revenues over the past several years from its subscription-based software that helps Mitel customers manage their communications networks. GSX provides similar services to users of Microsoft’s 365 suite of products such as Outlook, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams and currently has more than 400 customers around the world.
