Vikings, aliens and more will be making their new home on Ottawa-based You.i TV’s platform, as the firm announced this week it has signed a deal with A&E Networks.
A&E is the parent network behind the History channel, known for its documentaries, dramas and reality television shows. You.i, the local developer of smart TV and streaming services applications, will help to deploy the network’s History channel app on TV-connected devices.
The deal involves a bit of history for You.i as well, as A&E will be the first customer’s app built on the open-source React Native development framework. React Native was first launched by Facebook and underlies Instagram, Airbnb, Skype and other popular apps.
