Ottawa Tourism’s manager of project services, Mary Sayewich, has been named as one of Destinations International’s 2021 30 Under 30 recipients.
Since joining Ottawa Tourism in early 2016, Sayewich has led a wide variety of high-impact projects, including leading the creation of a robust event services department to better serve the many multi-stakeholder events held every year in Canada’s capital.
More recently, Sayewich has shifted her focus from managing events and projects towards implementing project management best practices within Ottawa Tourism, building on her skills as a project management professional to create a more effective and agile work culture.
To better understand the issues preventing business growth and economic stability, the most critical piece of the puzzle is often people.
“I’m beyond proud of the work Mary does in helping our organization and our destination become more responsive and more effective,” says Michael Crockatt, president and CEO of Ottawa Tourism. “As a key leader in our organization, Mary is an integral part of our team, and this recognition is incredibly well deserved. As we look towards helping Ottawa’s visitor economy recover from the pandemic, I have no doubt that Mary will be instrumental in helping to lead these efforts.”
About Destinations International’s 30 Under 30 program
As the leading global association representing the destination marketing and management profession, Destinations International created the 30 Under 30 program in an effort to develop future industry leaders from destination organizations of all sizes and countries.
In addition to being recognized as a future leader, selected program participants are provided with valuable industry networking opportunities and increased access to thought leadership throughout the year.
Recipients of the 30 Under 30 program were recognized at Destinations International’s 2021 annual convention, which was held in Baltimore, MD, on July 14.
