Ottawa’s business and design experts came together at Burovision’s showroom for the launch of Best Offices Ottawa 2026, celebrating some of the National Capital Region’s most beautiful, functional and healthy workplaces.
The event began with networking, food and refreshments before OBJ publisher Michael Curran introduced this year’s three featured workplaces: Fasken’s new Ottawa office by Marant Construction, CIRA’s new headquarters, and Bellai Alliance Construction’s office by Burovision.
Each project offered a different look at how organizations are rethinking the workplace. Fasken’s new office pairs views of Parliament Hill with a design focused on employee comfort and client confidentiality, while employee feedback helped shape CIRA’s new headquarters into a collaborative space designed for hybrid work. At Bellai Alliance Construction, Burovision transformed both the building and the everyday experience of the people working within it.
Curran then moderated a discussion with Gillian Oxley-Harper of Burovision and Astrid Sanchez of Gensler on workplace design and research, exploring how changing expectations around work are influencing the spaces organizations create for their people. The panel also dove into findings from Gensler’s Global Workplace Survey 2026, sharing insights on how the workplace has evolved and the surprising stability of the office amidst uncertainty.
The evening wrapped up with more networking and conversation, reflecting the broader theme behind Best Offices Ottawa 2026: how thoughtful design can create workplaces built around the people who use them.
