The federal government has awarded an Ottawa contraction firm a $1.6-million contract to bring the emergency systems inside a Health Canada lab at Tunney’s Pasture up to current standards.
R.E. Hein Construction will replace two existing generators, emergency distribution equipment, four automatic transfer switches as well as fuel supply system at 100 Eglantine Driveway that are at the end of their expected life, according to a procurement notice.
It was one of the largest contracts, standing offers and supply arrangements awarded to companies in Ottawa and Gatineau between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1.
