The Ottawa office of Canadian construction giant EllisDon has received a multimillion-contract to construct a police station 50 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, according to procurement records.
The federal government says the construction management contract involves overseeing the project from design through close-out.
The new RCMP detachment is to be located in Pangnirtung, NT, a community of approximately 1,500 residents on Baffin Island located roughly 2,400 kilometres from Ottawa.

Procurement records state the new detachment will be approximately 6,330 square feet and be delivered through modular construction.
