The city of Ottawa announced Tuesday it has selected MERX Networks to fulfill a two-year e-procurement pilot project to automate bid solicitations for request for quotations worth up to $100,000.
“The synergies between our long term plans, the MERX service offering, and their track record helping vendors find and pursue opportunities is compelling,” the city’s chief procurement officer Jeff Byrne said in a statement. “Furthermore, their technical, operational and change management expertise in the management of public tendering for municipalities of all sizes significantly ensures project success.”
The city said it wants a cloud-based electronic tendering system that manages requests for tenders, requests for proposals and requests for standing offers, price quotes, proposal evaluations, workflow, approvals, electronic bonding, standing offer management, vendor rotation, vendor performance management and procure-to-pay.
