The Ottawa-based Centre of Excellence for Next Generation Networks is hitting the road on Tuesday for a cross-country, five-city tour to find and support small and medium enterprises working on next-generation networks.
Next-generation network technologies address the growing demand for Internet content on multiple platforms. They support cloud-based applications and the so-called “Internet of Things,” changing the way people interact with each other and their machines in fields ranging from health care and financial services to manufacturing.
CENGN is a consortium of corporations, academics and researchers who are responsible for 90 per cent of Canada’s annual telecom research and development spending.

The tour begins in Edmonton and will make stops in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto before wrapping up in Kanata on Feb. 10.
