Hats off!

Weed Man Ottawa, a local lawn care company, recently partnered with its customers in the community to donate 700 pounds of food and household items to the Ottawa Food Bank. They collected donations including shelf-stable, non-perishable food and other household items from their customers when they provided lawn care services. This is part of Weed Man Ottawa’s Grassroots Giving food drive, which is part of a nation-wide campaign to support local food banks.

Hôpital Montfort’s emergency department is now named after Richcraft Homes, in recognition of the donation made by its owners, the Singhal family, toward the new mental health emergency zone project. The $2-million fundraising campaign for the new project was expected to last 18 months and nearly reached its goal in only 18 weeks due to the family’s donation. The project hopes to meet the growing need for mental health care in the nation’s capital.
