Smartphone maker BlackBerry (TSX:BB) is laying off around 90 employees in Ottawa, the company said Tuesday.

The employees “were part of BlackBerry’s product development and wireless technology teams,” the company said in an e-mailed statement.

The news comes one day after the company announced it would be laying off 120 employees in Waterloo, Ont.
Blackberry shares were up three cents to $10.16 by early afternoon on Tuesday.
