An Ottawa-based company that makes electronic systems for defence organizations has landed a major contract with the Royal Canadian Navy.
General Dynamics Mission Systems – Canada has signed a six-year, $182-million deal to provide in-service support for combat systems on board the navy’s fleet of 12 Halifax-class frigates, with an option to extend the agreement for up to six more years. According to a news release, the value of the contract could also increase depending on the work required.
The ships monitor Canadian waters, help with large-scale search-and-rescue missions and provide emergency assistance when needed.
