Startup Open House returns to Ottawa Wednesday evening with a series of hubs across the city – and some welcoming companies in between – opening their doors to curious members of the public and prospective tech talent.
The annual event, which also runs in Toronto, Waterloo and Montreal, lets anyone in the city travel from startup to startup to get a sense of the work happening inside Ottawa’s tech community. More than 50 tech firms in Ottawa, including Fellow.app, Ruckify, Iversoft and Shopify, have registered to welcome visitors on Wednesday.
This is the first year Startup Open House is operated by Elevate, the annual Canadian entrepreneurship conference.

Another first for Ottawa’s Startup House this year is a Kanata hub at 555 Legget Dr. While previous years have seen accelerator L-Spark act as a central venue for the open house in Ottawa’s west end, attendees can now head to the Kanata tech park hub to connect with a slew of companies setting up display tables in the lobby.
A free shuttle bus will transport Startup Open House visitors to seven different venues across the city, including Bayview Yards, the Kanata tech park and Ottawa’s five post-secondary institutions.
