A new cannabis grower has officially opened its doors in the National Capital Region.
Vars-based apollogreen announced Wednesday that its 5,000-square-foot greenhouse – just off Highway 417, 10 minutes past the Amazon Fulfilment Centre – has started growing cannabis this week after receiving a Health Canada cultivation licence in July.
The pot startup calls itself a “cannabis genetics and micropropagation firm.” The company cultivates smaller plantlets for sale to other licensed producers, allowing the bigger growers to save on their own greenhouse spaces and cut early growing time down by months.

With phase one of its build out complete, apollogreen is now looking to lock down enough funding to build a 70,000-square-foot expansion next door.
