Algonquin College students looking to grow their own businesses will soon get a leg up from Ottawa’s own e-commerce giant.
Starting next month, Shopify will provide free subscriptions to its online commerce platform to Algonquin students in specific programs at the local college, such as the Business Management and Entrepreneurship stream. The partnership comes with access to tools to help start and manage a business, which will be used in assignments throughout the BME program.
Incoming Algonquin College president Claude Brulé said in a statement that having access to Shopify’s tools will give students a valuable hands-on approach to learning how to grow a business.
