All three of Ottawa’s proposed pot shops have received operating licences from the province ahead of April 1 – the date retail storefronts will be given the green light to open across Ontario.
Ten of the 22 applications filed to open Ontario’s first pot shops have so far received licences from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, including Ottawa’s three operators.
Alberta-based cannabis retail brand Fire & Flower, which will run the York Street storefront, released a statement Friday announcing it had secured a licence for its Ottawa shop as well as its Kingston location.
