A final few visitors took in the top-notch topiaries of MosaïCanada150 this past weekend as the horticultural exhibit wrapped up its widely successful run in Gatineau’s Jacques-Cartier Park.
More than 1.3 million attendees took in the massive, intricately-designed shrubberies from the event’s open on June 30 to its close this past Sunday. That number dwarfed organizer Gatineau 2017’s initial forecasts of 800,000 visitors.
Canada Day celebrations kicked off the festival with a bang as some 120,000 visitors passed through the park over the course of the rainy July 1st weekend.

The 33 leafy sculptures paid tribute to Canada’s provinces and territories as well as its First Nations peoples, and included overseas contributions from Shanghai and Beijing.
MosaïCanada150 found much of its success on social media, with more than 10,000 Instagram posts naming the event in a hashtag.
