The Ottawa Board of Trade and Ottawa Business Journal hosted business and community leaders at the Mayor’s Breakfast on Thursday, June 11, 2026, for a timely conversation on the future of public transit and its impact on Ottawa’s economic growth. In a fireside chat with His Worship Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa and Rick Leary, General Manager of OC Transpo, attendees heard firsthand about the OC Transpo’s vision for building a more reliable, sustainable, and customer-focused transit system.
Drawing on more than 40 years of transit leadership experience, Leary highlighted the organization’s Customer First Action Plan, which prioritizes operational excellence, workforce sustainability, financial stewardship, and service improvements that better connect residents, employers, and visitors across the city. The discussion underscored the importance of public transit as a critical piece of economic infrastructure.
