“The research and the next few months will tell us what we can do to eventually grow the business beyond where we are right now,” Di Paolo said at a news conference.
Residents in the designated delivery areas will be able to choose from the Beer Store’s more than 800 offerings and place an order that will be fulfilled within two hours.
The Beer Store notes, however, that delivery times may be longer during high volume periods or in challenging driving conditions.
All orders must be placed before the end of normal business hours and base delivery fees will be charged, varying by location. In the Ottawa area, the fee will be $8, while it will be $9.75 in the Scarborough area. There is also a $20 minimum for the orders.
Word of the home delivery option comes months after Ontario’s primary purveyor of alcoholic drinks launched a home delivery program of its own.

The LCBO said it registered $1.7 million in sales during the first three months of the online business.
