Ottawa residents will have a new air connection to Atlantic Canada starting this fall.
Porter Airlines said Monday that it will launch daily non-stop service between Fredericton, N.B. and Ottawa on Sept. 12.
Departure times for the 1.5-hour flight vary throughout the week.

“Having Ottawa-Gatineau well-connected to Canada’s provincial and territorial capitals just makes sense,” said Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority, in a statement. “The addition of Porter Airlines to this route enhances both capitals’ business and tourism connectivity.”
Fredericton is home to the second-largest military base in Canada, which gives the New Brunswick capital strong ties to Ottawa, officials at the Fredericton International Airport Authority added.
Air Canada already connects the two cities with direct flights.
