Mr. Fitzpatrick was previously the vice-president of global sales and alliances at ResponseTek, a Vancouver-based company that makes software-as-a-service products to measure customer feedback.

Last month, Halogen reported its first-ever quarterly profit, posting third-quarter net income of US$283,000 on revenues of $18 million.
Halogen shares were down 10 cents to $9.40 during midday trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange. However, that remains close to its 52-week high of $10.
