“That strategy has been incredibly successful in positioning Ottawa as the ideal host city, enhancing our reputation on the world stage and boosting our local economy,” Mr. Watson said in a statement.

Dow’s Lake Pavilion will be the host venue for the championships, which will feature 10 races over two days.

The event is set to take place on July 23-24 this year and will feature different brackets like the Canadian Standard Distance Triathlon Championships and the Kid of Steel Triathlons aimed at youth from under 5 to under 13.

“I can think of no better place to showcase our national championships than in the heart of Canada’s capital city,” Triathlon Canada CEO Tim Wilson said in a statement.
