Construction permits jump 47% in November

The value of local construction permits was up $82 million, year-over-year, in November, according to municipal records.

The city issued 750 permits with a combined value of $256.8 million, compared to 730 permits with a total value of $174.8 million a year earlier.

The construction of a 10-storey office building in Vanier boosted the value of November’s permits by almost $30 million. Other notable deals include the construction of Algonquin College’s student commons building, as well as a 12-storey apartment complex on Lisgar Street.
