Construction work on a pedestrian bridge over the Airport Parkway is scheduled to begin again on Wednesday, over two years after it was originally supposed to be finished.
Work first began on the bridge, intended to link Hunt Club Road with the South Keys shopping centre and the Transitway, in June 2011. Primary construction was supposed to be finished that fall, with landscaping and some other work set for May 2012.
But, after initial delays pushed construction into to the spring, concrete used in the construction failed to set properly, requiring much of bridge to be torn down.
