BOMA Ottawa marked its approaching 50th anniversary in 2026 with a special luncheon event, paying tribute to the city’s growth and the commercial real estate sector that helped build its skyline. The celebration also acknowledged Ottawa’s larger 200-year history since the founding of Bytown.

The centerpiece of the event was a panel discussion featuring BOMA icons Tony Fuller, Phil Marcella, and Gillie Vered, who were interviewed by Ottawa Business Journal publisher Michael Curran. The industry veterans recounted stories about the formation of BOMA Ottawa and reflected on the landmark tower projects that defined the local real estate industry over the decades. The discussion focused on the sector’s evolution, detailing the crucial role it played in shaping the National Capital Region.

BOMA Ottawa also used the luncheon as a platform to unveil the 2026 Commercial Space Directory cover. The design honoured a “Timbers to Towers” theme.
