A new Air Canada motorcoach service will connect Kingston’s Norman Rogers Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport starting this September.
The airline announced Tuesday that passengers travelling out of Kingston will be able to catch a ride to Toronto Pearson International Airport as part of the expansion of the airline’s multimodal service in partnership with The Landline Company. Air Canada rolled this service out in Hamilton and the region of Waterloo in February 2024.
The new motorcoach route from Kingston, which begins operating Sept. 23, will run two trips daily to and from Toronto, timed for connections around Air Canada flights.

Craig Desjardins, director of strategy, innovation and partnership for the City of Kingston, said in a news release that the return of Air Canada to Kingston “marks a critical step forward in reconnecting our community to the global economy.”
“Reliable, integrated transportation links like this are essential to supporting our tourism sector, enabling workforce mobility, and strengthening Kingston’s appeal as a destination for conferences, investment, and innovation,” he said in the release. “This partnership with Air Canada and Landline ensures that Kingston remains open, accessible, and competitive in a rapidly evolving economy.”
In the press release, the airline said passengers travelling from Kingston will check into their flights as normal and board the Air Canada-branded motorcoach with their checked baggage. Once at Toronto Pearson, they will proceed to a self-service bag drop, then make their way through security.
“We are delighted to be reconnecting customers in Kingston and the surrounding region to our global network,” Ranbir Singh, director of regional airlines and markets for Air Canada, said in the release.
“This is a premier example of the new opportunities our growing partnership with The Landline Company unlocks. Customers travelling between Norman Rogers Airport and Toronto Pearson on Landline’s premium motorcoaches will enjoy the same benefits as those making air-only connections.”
Air Canada previously offered a regular Kingston to Toronto flight, which was cancelled in June 2020 in response to a drop in demand due to the pandemic. In an earlier interview with OBJ, the city’s airport manager, Aron Winterstein, cited pilot shortages and rising costs as challenges that have kept flights to regional airports like Kingston’s from returning. FlyGTA and Pascan Aviation briefly offered flights out of Kingston but cancelled their service.
