Public Works seeks 18,000 square feet of warehouse space

Government department Public Works is looking for more warehouse space on the east side of Ottawa.

A few days after putting out a tender for industry for about 16,000 square feet of space, Public Works added a new request for 18,030 more square feet.

The government department seeks availability for five years starting on Dec. 1, with the option to extend for three additional one-year periods.

The space must be located within an area bounded by the Ottawa River (north), Hunt Club Road (south), Rideau River/Bank Street (west) and Rockcliffe Parkway/Highway 174/Highway 417 (east).

Parameters for the space, more fully outlined in a request on proposal site Merx, include 24/7 access, temperature control, sprinkler capabilities, and a loading dock capable of access from 16-metre trucks.

Proposals are due July 16. The space must be available a month before lease for fit-ups.
